A woman gave birth on board line 5 of the Paris metro this Sunday, March 31, late in the morning.
This Sunday, March 31, traffic on line 5 was interrupted for nearly an hour. But, for once, it was for a good cause: at the end of the morning, a woman aged around thirty gave birth in a Paris metro train.< /p>
According to the firefighters, cited by our colleagues from Parisien, the new mother gave birth to a baby at the level of the Gare du Nord station. She and her child were then transported by emergency services, and are both doing well.
"Several times a year"
If the place is completely unusual, it is not that surprising, say the firefighters. "These are interventions that we carry out several times a year, whether in the metro, in the RER or on public roads"< /em>, indicate help to our colleagues.
The story does not say, however, whether the baby will be offered a lifetime subscription by the RATP or another commercial gesture.
