Ce mardi 12 mars, en soirée, une quinzaine d'agriculteurs ont parcouru les rayons du Carrefour Market de Marseillan, en scrutant les étiquettes des produits. 

The farmers of the Hérault Rural Coordination remain mobilized in the field of large areas. This Tuesday, March 12 at 6 p.m., around fifteen of them, wearing yellow caps and chasubles with their union logo, organized an operation to control the origins and provenance of meats and vegetables in the Carrefour market supermarket in Marseillan .

A supervised operation, carried out without violence following deception about the origin of meat which was reported to the union by consumers. An observation which, however, was not made on site with regard to the meats. "Our action has undoubtedly been exposed", indicated, in substance, one of the farmers.

So-called French zucchini arriving from Spain

A little further on, the control seems more conclusive for vegetables advertised as being of French origin. Thus the so-called French zucchini come, depending on the crate containing them, from Spain. Same observation for a category of tomatoes also identified as French but which, according to the label of origin, arrive from Morocco.

An action which took place in the presence of the gendarmerie but also the director of the brand with whom a discussion even began at the end of the session ;operation. The farmers seemed satisfied to have demonstrated certain irregularities which were carefully recorded by an accompanying videographer with the aim of disseminating this information and inviting the prefectural services to carry out more frequent checks .
An action which, according to the union, is called upon to be renewed.
