Dance, magic, humor, music… Patrick Timsit mixes disciplines and aesthetics for the second edition of the Seuls en scène festival in Uzès.

Patrick Timsit does not hide his ambition. He wants to make the Seuls en scène festival at L’Ombrière in Uzès, of which he is the artistic director, an unmissable event, the meeting place for the weekend of May 8. After a successful first edition last year, it once again welcomes the curious for five days where the solo is presented in very different ways. Far from reducing the only thing on stage to humor, the festival mixes disciplines with a spirit of openness and discovery.

This year, the festival begins this Tuesday, May 7, at 9 p.m., with the dancer François Alu, who comes to present his show Completely thrown(from 35 euros to 39). The artist has a unique and extraordinary journey. Appointed star dancer of the Paris Opera in 2022, he left the institution a few months later to pursue a more personal career. Classical dancer, hip hop lover, he also participated in the jury of the show Dancing with the stars. With this first solo performance, he wanted a show in his image, multidisciplinary, mixing virtuosity and humor, dance and text.

Another dancer with a unique aesthetic, Sofiane Chalal will be on stage with Ma part d’ombre, on Thursday May 9, at 9 p.m. (from 12 euro to 22 euro). Hip-hop champion, choreographer, actor, he does not use euphemisms to introduce himself: "I put the first step on stage and I hear: eh, but he's fat, he can't dance!" But the artist made his physique a weapon to challenge the codes of dance and question the way everyone perceives themselves and looks at others.

Singular aesthetics

The spirit of discovery of the festival is also manifested with the magician and mentalist Viktor Vincent, who presents Fantastik on Friday 10&nbsp ;May, at 9 p.m. (from 22 euros to 32 euros). In an intimate atmosphere, he takes the public into his mind-blowing imagination and thwarts appearances.

In this high-end program, Stephan Eicher presents a new project, on Saturday May 11, at 9 p.m. This promise of a precious moment was sold out in just a few days… The Swiss singer, accomplice of Philippe Djian, has a 40-year career and has just published a sixteenth album Homeless Songs, a new variation of which he has the secret where song, rock or folk mix.

And of course humor!

Logically, humor will also be on display. The evening of Wednesday, May 8 begins at 6 p.m., with Sandra Colombo and Que faire des idiots ?, a funny show and feminist where she reveals an unstoppable method for getting rid of bulky items (from 12 € to 22 €). Then it's time for a Comedy Club at 9 p.m. with a set concocted by Patrick Timsit bringing together Sofia Belabbes, Pierre-Emmanuel Barré, Bun Hay Mean, Kody and Tristan Lucas (from 22 euros to 32 euros). ;€).

Finally, the festival is not limited to shows. Thus, each year, an artist looks back on his journey during a masterclass. Last year, Patrick Timsit inaugurated the exercise. This year, he invites the actor Thierry Lhermitte. An essential figure in French cinema, founder of the Splendid troupe, he will take part in a meeting at the Capitole on Thursday May 9, at 11 a.m., hosted by film historian Karim Ghiyati.

The festival village

This year, festival-goers will be able to arrive before the shows to enjoy the atmosphere of the village, with food trucks on the square in front of the Ombrière&nbsp ;and guests. L’Atelier 58 offers to create souvenir badges and bracelets (May 7, 8 and 9). The Dynamogène company invites fans of the little queen to spin its Athletic-Cyclo-Disco-Club (May 10). The street theater company 1 Watt improvises, dances and metamorphoses with freedom. public space (May 7, 8 and 9). Also on site, a glitter stand to shine brightly and a Photobooth stand (from May 7 to 11).

Opening of the site à from 6 p.m., except May 8   from 4:30 p.m. L’Ombrière, 3 place Croix-des-Palmiers, Uzès. 04 48 21 57 40.
