An afternoon of activities and information to relieve caregivers in Bagnols-sur-Cèze

Dans le cadre des Journées gardoises des aidants, la ville de Bagnols organise une après-midi dédiée aux aidants mais pas seulement, mardi 24 septembre à la salle multiculturelle.

“In the Gard, there are 40,000 adults and 23,500 minors who are helped at some point in their lives or their entire lives.”And behind each person to be helped, there is a caregiver” recalls Michèle Fond-Thurial, assistant for solidarity in Bagnols-sur-Cèze. “Carers often have a sacrificial position, they forget themselves and the message that we want to convey with the caregivers' day that we are organizing is that they must protect themselves too. Many caregivers get sick“.

On Tuesday, September 24, as part of the Gard Caregivers' Days, the city of Bagnols, in partnership with the Department, is offering an afternoon combining activities and information, for caregivers and others. "The aim of this day is to raise awareness among caregivers, so that they can have fun" emphasizes Marie-Claude Fontraille, head of the Seniors' Space and coordinator of the event.

A one-stop shop for guidance and information at Bagnols

"The Department finances one-stop shops in the municipalities, with a reception area for carers. In Bagnols, this one-stop shop is located in the new premises of the league against cancer (Saint-Gilles space, avenue Léon-Blum)" explains the elected official. In this resource space, open without an appointment on Wednesday afternoons and Thursday mornings, a professional “can guide and inform caregivers. It is linked to 34 partner organizations, such as France Alzheimer, the Ehpad des 7 Sources, the league against cancer, the IME, the Présence 30 caregivers' café, the Ressources Cèze respite organization for parents of autistic children…". A whole network to relieve caregivers.

On the agenda for caregivers' day

Caregivers' day, which takes place at the multicultural hall of Bagnols-sur-Cèze Tuesday, September 24 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., is open to all, free of charge. Professionals from the medical-social sector will be present to inform the public.

2 p.m.-6 p.m.: free workshops for caregivers (seated massage, cranial massage, foot reflexology, socio-esthetician, chair yoga, stone therapy, watercolor, giant wooden games). Slam animation with Nomis.

3:30 p.m.: inclusive dance show with the company Le sens des âmes.

5:30 p.m.: finale with the magicians of bubbles.

A welcome and workshops are planned for the relatives being helped while their caregivers participate in activities.
