Martial Bories, president of the Les Vignerons de l’Occitane winery, in Servian, was summoned this Tuesday, May 21, before the Saint-Mathieu-de-Tréviers gendarmerie. His son was questioned before the Saint-Gély-du-Fesc gendarmerie and was placed in police custody. At issue: an action carried out at the home of Jacques Gravegeal, the president of the Pays d’Oc wine union, last March.

Martial Bories, the president of the Les Vignerons de L’Occitane cellar in Servian, was interviewed this Tuesday, May 21, by the Saint-Gendarmerie Mathieu-de-Tréviers. His son was questioned before the Saint-Gély-du-Fesc gendarmerie, notably for "home invasion and threats". He was accompanied by his lawyer Mr. Phung. And was taken into custody. He will be brought before the Montpellier court this Wednesday morning, just like another wine grower.

It was an action carried out at the home of Jacques Gravegeal, the president of the Pays d'Oc wine union, last March, which triggered this series of hearings which also involved five others Gard winegrowers.

"Setting fire among young people"

"I called the prefect, all this will add fuel to the fire, regrets Martial Bories. How amazed I am to see the events! The young people went to Jacques Gravegeal's home but they didn't break anything, they wanted to see the president of the Pays d'Oc", he explains, evoking a board of directors who went badly. "Setting fires among young people is not something coherent. So I hope that the situation will recover as quickly as possible." "There is no need to be afraid among wine growers…"

"It’s stupid to come to this. And put fire on the embers. These young people, they want explanations, that’s all. And they want to make a living from their work." "The Pays d’Oc is something magnificent, it must be preserved, we don’ need no commotion."

The president of the L’Occitane cellar will be in court this Wednesday morning, alongside other winegrowers, to support his son.
