"We heard two gunshots. Everyone lay on the ground in the courtrooms as well as in the room of the lost steps. We thought it was an attack. We're still shaking…", confides a witness to the tragedy.

Armed with a pistol, a man shot a woman this Tuesday, February 20, in front of the Montpellier courthouse. At this time, we don't know if it's his partner.

Two lying bodies

One thing is certain, the individual turned the weapon on himself and fired, also at the head. The two bodies are still there, lying on the ground. The crime scene has been frozen.

At the request of the public prosecutor, the entire establishment was evacuated. The perimeter was cordoned off by police officers who arrived in large numbers.
