Une chips ultra-épicée est bien la cause du décès d'un garçon de 14 ans, au Massachusetts. L’évènement tragique s’était déroulé le 1er septembre 2023.
Les résultats de l'autopsie viennent de confirmer les soupçons. Le "One Chip Challenge", which consists of ingesting ingredients as quickly as possible without drinking water, caused the death of the youngster American Harris Wolobah.
The adolescent suffered "cardioventilatory arrest due to the ingestion of a food substance with a high concentration of capsaicin< /em>", as relayed by BFM TV. This chemical compound present in Paqui brand chips causes severe burning sensations

It contains two very dangerous ingredients. These are "California Reaper Pepper", as well as "Naga Viper Pepper", specifies Le Parisien. If the challenge indeed caused the death, the autopsy revealed that the teenager suffered from "cardiovascular pathologies ", a problem that would also have contributed to his death. Following this tragic event, the chip was immediately withdrawn from sale.
