La remise du matériel a eu lieu ce mardi midi au groupement de gendarmerie mobile. Midi Libre – W.N.

Jean-Marc Campello, président du comité nîmois, a remis une vingtaine de casques au groupement de gendarmerie mobile 1/6.

Every year, the Friends of the Nîmes gendarmerie raise funds to provide logistical support to the gendarmes, in particular through the provision of equipment. This Tuesday, December 30, its president Jean-Marc Campello offered around twenty brand new audio headsets to the 1/6 mobile gendarmerie headquarters. Next week, he must go to the central gendarmerie to, this time, put back signals on the ground.

Donations based on need

"We carry out this action according to the needs of each company", confides Jean-Marc Campello. "These headsets will allow us to have our hands free to communicate with each other during missions, especially since they are compatible with our law enforcement helmets", adds Colonel Du Rusquec, at the head of the mobile gendarmerie group.

Operating via Bluetooth, these headsets will replace the headset system used until now. They also have the particularity of being compatible with STORM, the gendarmerie's new radio transmission system.

The Friends of the Gendarmerie have 45 members in Nîmes and two patrons. At the national level, the 200 committees bring together some 18,000 members. The main vocation of the association is to raise awareness of the gendarmerie through, for example, awareness-raising activities in schools or in businesses.
