At the Polygone de Béziers, the Kinépolis cinema is beginning its second phase of work

The second phase of the work will involve the renovation of the cinema lobby, the reception area, the meeting rooms and the confectionery area.

At the Polygone in Béziers, the Kinépolis company is waiting for municipal authorizations to begin its second phase of work. Bought on December 13, 2023, a large part of the cinema has already been redone. The work should be completed this fall. Two special rooms have been created with cutting-edge, latest-generation equipment allowing for total immersion.

The second phase of work on the Kinépolis cinema, located at the Polygone in Béziers, will soon begin. "“We are waiting for municipal permits before starting work“, confides Anne-Sophie Le Guiader, head of sales in France for Kinépolis. The cinema was bought by the Belgian company Kinépolis on December 13, 2023 from the company Monciné. The entire complex has been undergoing renovation work since the beginning of the year. "During the first phase, 7 screens, all servers, all projectors, all seats, 1,600 m2 of carpet, and 1,300 m2 of liner were changed", list Anne-Sophie Le Guiader. The second phase will concern the renovation of the cinema hall, the reception area, the meeting rooms and the confectionery sector. The end of the work is normally planned for this fall.

Two special rooms have been created

The Screenx room allows you to broadcast a panoramic image at 270° for total immersion in 2D. During certain scenes, the images extend laterally to the left and right of the screen for approximately 1/3 of the duration of the film, immersing the viewer in an even more immersive cinema experience. This technology uses two projectors located on either side of the main screen, allowing the images to be extended onto the side walls of the room.

"The city of Béziers is the seventh room in France to benefit from the Ultra Laser room“, assures Anne-Sophie Le Guiader. This room benefits from a 4K projector, the only laser projector in the world capable of displaying 4K content at 60 frames per second, as well as 3D films in 4K resolution, at exceptional brightness levels ( 60,000 lumens). Unlike traditional cinema projectors which use xenon bulbs, laser projection achieves abundant brightness with a wider spectrum, more natural colors and higher contrast levels. Combined with immersive Dolby Atmos sound, featuring 64 unique streaming channels, Ultra Laser technology delivers multi-dimensional sound.
