As part of National Access to Law Day, speakers from the House of Justice and Law and the regional president of Unicef ​​at the school spoke throughout the day, this Friday, May 24.

For the second year in a row, Dorothée Garcia's class from the Célestin-Freinet school was treated to a special day on the rights and duties of the child, as part of National Children's Day ;access to the law this Friday, May 24. All under the aegis of the House of Justice and Law of Bagnols-sur-Cèze. Its manager, clerk at the Nîmes court, Maddy Boumahmoud, the administrative assistant of the House of Justice and Law Sarah Cheynet and a lawyer at the CDAD (departmental center for access to law), Soukaina Mziouek, have offered interactive workshops and quizzes in the morning on the rights and obligations of minors. "At what age is a child criminally responsible ? At what age can a minor go to prison ? Can he be heard by a family affairs judge ? In the event of divorce, does he have the right to choose which of his parents he wishes to live with ? It was explained to them that this decision is made by a family judge who acts in the interest of the family judge. rsquo;child", these are some of the themes discussed."They were challenged by the question of visitation rights and’ accommodation of grandparents, which must go through a judge, when the parents object, explains Maddy Boumahmoud.

Captivated children

In the afternoon, it was the intervention of Daniel Pansier to which the CM1 students were very attentive. Last week, professionals from the House of Justice intervened in an IME in Goudargues to raise awareness among young adults with disabilities about their rights and duties.

A new office for children, at the start of the next school year

From September, a new service will be offered. to the administrators of the Rhone Gard & the House of Justice and Law in Bagnols-sur-Cèze (which is a branch of the Nîmes court).
