Barber: with The Lisboa Corner, a new vision of a vintage profession

Keylan Vilar Da Silva opened a salon a fortnight ago with a cosy atmosphere and quality offerings, focusing on the hospitality specific to his Portuguese origins.

With its cosy atmosphere, its white and blue tones, its light wood counter, The Lisboa Corner stands out in the coded world of barber shops. And this difference, the owner of the place, Keylan Vilar Da Silva, has fully assumed since the opening of his salon, rue de l'Agau, on August 28: “I focus on quality, premium, but also warmth and hospitality, specific to my Portuguese origins, with complimentary tea, chocolate and coffee. I want to bring a new vision of the barber profession and promote the personalized side in a family atmosphere."
Exclusively male, from adults to children, this new salon offers the art of hairdressing ("With scissors or clippers, classic, old school or inspired by football players") and shaving with a hot towel. "I also offer facials, nose and ear hair removal, continues Keylan Vilar Da Silva. I have been a barber for ten years. After studying computer graphics, I joined my father who is a mason. At the same time, as an autodidact, I did hair for my loved ones." 

The Nîmes native was then hired in a salon, then a second, before embarking on a vocational training certificate in hairdressing. "I fell into depression, and I decided to plan ahead. It was time to open my salon." The thirty-year-old, father of two, found a fully renovated space a stone's throw from La Coupole. He, who is also a barber trainer, now aims to create his own franchise. The opening of a second salon is already scheduled in a city on the Côte d'Azur.
