Cap d'Agde: invasion of velleles, washed-up tree trunks... on the resort's beaches, we clean up the traces of winter

The machines in action in the early morning, Tuesday April 9. FREE MIDI – MICHEL DESNOS

At the start of the school holidays, the Agathois coastline is getting a makeover in preparation for the arrival of the first vacationers.

The beach service is hard at work at the start of the school holidays on the Grau and Cap coastlines. Machines in fact erase the traces of winter, in particular those of the last sea surge, and remove tree trunks and branches that clutter the sand.

It’is also an opportunity for agents to remove tons of velelles, these marine animals washed up by the thousands on the beach in recent days, with the smell that goes with them ! A welcome toilet, in preparation for the first tanning sessions.
