Paris SG inherits big clubs like Bayern Munich or Manchester City, Real Madrid will travel to Brest and play Lille, the draw for the new Champions League format was made this Thursday, August 29 in Monaco.

A single group of 36 teams, the first eight qualified for the round of 16, play-offs between the teams placed from 9th to 24th place… the new Champions League format is going to be exhilarating.

After the draw in Monaco, the four French clubs – Paris SG, Monaco, Brest and Lille – now know their opponents, whom they will face over the course of eight days, four at home and four away.

City and Bayern for PSG

Thus Paris SG has inherited a fairly tough group with Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Atlético de Madrid and the English club Arsenal, which will also face Monaco as well as Benfica.

For its part, Brest will host the reigning European champion Real Madrid, which Lille will also play during this first phase between the 36 teams.
