The 2029 Men's Handball World Championship will be organized in France and Germany, the International Handball Federation (IHF) announced on Tuesday. Paris will be the host city for the opening match and the final four while two host cities in France and three in Germany, announced later, will host the preliminary phases and the quarter-finals of the 31st edition of the event .

"Quality of the application"

"I would like to thank the International Federation for entrusting us with the organization of the 2029 IHF World Cup which salutes the quality of the candidacy of our two federations", declared Philippe Bana, the president of the French Handball Federation.

"Hosting this competition in France constitutes an additional opportunity to continue the development of handball." France has already hosted the Men's Handball World Cup three times, in 1970, 2001 and 2017, the date of the Blues' sixth and last title.
