Le paiement sans contact est désormais possible pour des achats au-dessus du montant bloquant jusqu’alors fixé à 50 euros.

Contactless payment, deployed during Covid to limit tactile exchanges, has been a huge success. Initially capped at 30 euros, then at 50 euros, it now rises above that with “contactless plus”, reveals BFM business.

How it works?

A new feature that is currently being deployed, but which will still require entering your secret code to validate the transaction, unlike purchases of less than 50 euros, for which a simple pass over the payment terminal is enough.

"Contactless Plus makes it possible to generalize contactless payment regardless of the amount. Payment is therefore faster, with an accelerated and still secure checkout”, specified the bank card group cited by BFM.

In an article devoted to Pin Online, which will allow bank card holders to make purchases of an amount greater than 50 euros in “contactless” mode, Crédit Agricole indicates that 6 out of 10 payments are currently made contactless.

On the consumer side, no changes are expected since the update is done at the payment terminals used by merchants.
