Terrible news for Languedoc rugby. Cédric Rosalen, former player for Narbonne, Perpignan, but also Montauban and Carcassonne, died at the age of 43.

L'Audois ended his career as a coach/player at Aviron Gruissanais, with whom he was French Fédérale 3 champion in 2018.

For two seasons, he had taken, with his colleague Thomas Clavières, the reins of the Corbières XV club with whom he won three shields last season in the Regional 2 (Departmental, Regional and National).

A renowned kick game

Arriving as a cadet in Narbonne (1999), he climbed the ranks until playing in the Top 16 under the orange and black colors. Moreover, one evening in November 2006, he delivered a major performance against Montauban, scoring 32 points in the match. A total of points for a long time remained as the record for a single Top 14 match, before being beaten by Urdapilleta, in 2021.

Renowned for his kicking game, the best director of the Top 16 in 2005/2006, was recruited by the USAP in the summer of 2007. If the transplant in the club Catalan never really caught on, Rosalen then continued her career in Montauban and Carcassonne.

Great sportsman, trail and nature lover, Ouveillan's child is always available with journalists.

To his family and loved ones, Midi Libre presents its most sincere condolences.
