This January 23, 2024, the investigation into the disappearance of little Emile experienced a twist with the discovery of bones. After verifications, investigators are still at a standstill.

The mystery surrounding the disappearance of little Emile, in the town of Vernet remains unsolved. But at the end of January, a discovery almost relaunched the investigation. A hiker saw bones in the town of Vernet, explains BFM DICI.

Bones "regularly analyzed"

These events took place on January 23. The woman therefore discovered bones "near a stream", underlines a source. Directly,   the Marseille Research Section (SR), attached to the "Émile cell" has been informed. Samples were taken so that the Criminal Research Institute of the National Gendarmerie (IRCGN) could carry out checks.

The soldiers in charge of the case took this information seriously. "The heart raced, it& ;rsquo;is true", explains one of the gendarmes, who continue to try to understand the circumstances of this strange disappearance on July 8.

But the hope of finding a solution to this affair was short-lived. A few days after the discovery, the analysis results came out: the bones found by the hiker are in reality animal bones, reveals the television channel. "In recent months, bones discovered in Vernet have been regularly analyzed by investigators", confides a source close to the case.

Seven months after the disappearance of little Emile, investigations continue without being able to arrive at the truth.
