This Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the Assembly's Law Committee overwhelmingly rejected LFI's proposal to dismiss Emmanuel Macron.

The National Assembly's Law Commission overwhelmingly rejected on Wednesday, by 54 votes to 15, the proposal to impeach Emmanuel Macron filed by La France Insoumise, which accuses the head of state of not having respected the result of the legislative elections.

Can the head still be examined? ?

This text aims to bring the president before the two joint chambers of Parliament with a view to impeachment for “failure to perform his duties manifestly incompatible with the exercise of his mandate"

The Conference of Presidents of Political Groups must now decide, within 13 days, whether the text will nevertheless proceed to the next stage, i.e. examination in the Chamber.
