Caravan theft: a misadventure that can ruin an afternoon at the beach or even a vacation, depending on the items stolen. This is why the gendarmerie is launching a prevention campaign by distributing flyers, in French and several foreign languages, in parking lots near swimming areas, particularly in the Carnon and La Grande-Motte sectors.
Several series of thefts recently
Objective: to disseminate precautionary recommendations that are easy to apply, while several series of thefts from vehicles have been noted recently, with up to six break-ins in half a day.
Among the tips from law enforcement: do not leave your car isolated, ensure that no object is visible inside, or even , do not store valuable items in the glove box. Pay particular attention to computer equipment, which can arouse envy.
The most basic practices are also essential: close the windows and lock the vehicle. The gendarmerie invites you to dial 17 if you notice an abnormal event in a parking area.
