€9.9 million to support Montpellier researchers who are shaping the health of the future

The Foundation for Medical Research presented their diplomas to 45 researchers on Wednesday May 15 in the Meeting Room of the Town Hall. Between 2022 and 2023, they received €9.9 million in aid. in order to continue their work.

The Foundation for Medical Research brought together its winners on Wednesday May 15 in the Meeting Room of the Town Hall to present them with their official diploma. A symbolic reward to highlight these Montpellier researchers financially supported to the tune of 9.9 M€ between 2022 and 2023.

Cancers, neurological diseases

Whether they are at the end of their thesis or leading a team within a laboratory, there are 45 male and female researchers who have benefited from this support. Neurosciences, oncology, infectious diseases, internal medicine, transversal fundamental research are the five areas in which the Foundation has invested the money of donors, partners and patrons. Gilles Roche, president of the Occitanie Committee, welcomed numerous personalities from the economic, political and academic world to this graduation ceremony.

Tax-free donations

All encouraged researchers, most of whom work at the University Hospital, CNRS or Inserm, to carry out their studies for the benefit of health. They took the opportunity to highlight the excellence of research in Montpellier thanks to this network of researchers. They had the opportunity to briefly present the subject of their research in order to encourage the public present to continue their engagement. Individuals and businesses can benefit from a tax deduction by making a donation and participating in "this great human chain" as Alexis Vandevivere, in charge of the development of the Foundation, calls it.
