The England team qualified for the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 by beating Slovakia (2-1) in the round of 16 on Sunday 30 June in Gelsenkirchen.

Ivan Schranz (25th) had opened the scoring for Slovakia but England equalised through Jude Bellingham (90+5), before Harry Kane scored the winning goal at the very start of extra time (91st). England, the finalist of the previous edition, and Switzerland, victorious on Saturday against Italy, the defending champion, will face off on July 6 in Düsseldorf (6 p.m.).
