Feminist festival: at the Le Prolé bar in Nîmes, the craft market is a hit!

Artisanes, femmes artistes, créatrices exposaient ce samedi 9 mars leurs œuvres au bar de la rue Jean Reboul à Nîmes. Devant des visiteurs conquis.

Born in the head of Florence Thiébaut, the idea of ​​creating an artisanal market on the occasion of the first feminist festival organized at Prolé, aimed, initially, to promote the work of associations Amaos and Le Petit Atelier located in Pissevin and Chemin-Bas.

"Beyond giving the opportunity to these only women from the neighborhoods to exhibit their talent in the city center, it very quickly became apparent to us natural to go further. By giving others the opportunity to also be able to reveal their work to as many people as possible during this unique festival, explains the president of the association les amis du Prolé.

Jewelry, basketwork and ceramics

Among the customers seated this Saturday, March 9 at mid-morning, visitors jostled to discover the wonders displayed for sale on the different stands.

Earrings, basketwork, ceramics, prints, illustrations and other works of art that the exhibiting artists, mostly from Nîmes, Gard or not far away commented willingly.

Unanimously, all these women artists welcomed the initiative to create a feminist festival within this emblematic activist bar in the city of Nîmes. And they all said they were proud and honored to have been invited.

This Saturday, and despite the rain, the very first feminist festival organized at Prolé was to continue with a street show which  would ultimately be held inside the bar due to bad weather. The intergenerational feminist boom "What's up" had to finally close this beautiful day with a set by Djette "La Frange" from 8 p.m.
