Foot race: Eliott Pantel makes it three in Génolhac

L’Alésien s’est imposé dimanche à Génolhac, remportant pour la troisième fois consécutive le Sentier des Bouzèdes.

Sunday August 4, 155 runners got their jerseys wet on the 31st edition of the Sentier des Bouzèdes, a 11.7 km mountain race linking Génolhac to the summit of Mas de la Barque, via the Mont-Lozère trails. With 945m of positive elevation gain and a finish located at 1,425m altitude, it was a demanding effort that was on the program for this event created in 1976 and put back on the calendar in 1995.

Lozérien Tufféry, second as in 2023

It was the legs of young Eliott Pantel that performed the best. The Alésien, winner of the two previous editions, achieved a new solo time of 1h03’33’. He preceded under the finishing arch the Lozérien Adrien Tufféry, already second last year (1h04’10’’), and the Villefortais Laurent Portanier (Alès Atac), third in 1h05’53.

"My time is not as good as in 2023 (1h01’35’’), but the victory is still appreciable, all the more that a week ago, I was running a 65 km trail in the Alps”, confided the strong man of this Bouzèdes climb.

Mary-Charlotte Turco first female

Among the women, Mary-Charlotte Turco (team Alès C2A), second last year, also played her role as favorite well, winning easily in 1h26’40’, quite far ahead of the master 4 of Branoux-les-Taillades, Françoise Dumas (1h31’55’’), and Stéphanie Dambrin, who came from Nice to collect the bronze in 1h33’10’’.
