Le diagnostic vital est réservé concernant l'international suédois Kristoffer Olsson.

Swedish international Kristoffer Olsson, victim of an unidentified brain disease, has been hospitalized and placed on life support, his Danish club FC Midtjylland (FCM) announced on Tuesday.

"Kristoffer Olsson suffers from an apparently acute brain illness that is not due to any self-harm or external factors' quot;, indicated the FCM in a press release, published to put an end to the "rumors" surrounding the player's absence.

The player lost consciousness at home

"The 28-year-old Swedish national team player lost consciousness at his home on Tuesday, February 20 and was transferred to Aarhus University Hospital, where he is hospitalized and placed on a respirator", it is specified.

Olsson, whose exact diagnosis has not been communicated, is still unconscious. After starting at Arsenal, the native of Norrköping (eastern Sweden) played at FCM and AIK (Stockholm) then at Krasnodar and Anderlecht before joining FCM again last summer.

In a post on social media, the Swedish Football Association sent him wishes for a speedy recovery. "The whole Swedish football family is thinking of you and hope you get well soon", she wrote.
