Football: the time has come, the verdict will fall on the regional fields

The penultimate day of the regional championships can be decisive for the Thau clubs who are still seeking to ensure their survival. Asfac and Mèze are expected.

This Saturday, May 11, around 10 p.m., one or two Thau teams could find out a lot more about the outcome of their season.

Doubts still persist for Asfac in R1, they could be lifted at the end of this penultimate day. By bringing back at least one point from its trip, the Muscatier club would put itself out of reach of four direct rivals. Seven teams are still fighting to avoid the last four places. The Frontignanais are in the best position.

In search of certainty

The last home match nevertheless showed the excitement of this team. Despite a great comeback in the second half of the championship, the lack of efficiency shown by the group still gives some concern to the staff and supporters alike.

A giant step to take for the Mézois

With a match late (the home derby against Asfac II), the Mézois will not be sure of their fate. However, their movement is perhaps decisive. A victory in Saint-Affrique would be a giant step towards maintaining. Direct rivals tied on points, the Aveyronnais had conceded a defeat at Sesquier, the Mézois can save their season in this match.

On a backdrop of revenge

The derby on the opposite banks, between Balarucois and Sétois, will have nothing at stake except that Sporting has revenge to take. Mathieu Munoz's men were, during the first leg, the first to bring down the "Vert et blanc". A slight scent of revenge could float during this end of season match. Finally, Asfac II will host Saint-André, again no issues, both teams are guaranteed to maintain their position.
