Four attacks committed by prisoners on prison guards in a few days, at the Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone remand center, near Montpellier: the Ufap Unsa Justice union calls for mobilization in front of the prison ;judgment, Monday January 22.  

The Ufap Unsa union at the Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone remand center is calling for a blockade of the establishment on Monday January 22. The cause was four attacks on guards, which occurred in just a few days in the prison near Montpellier. "It is time for our thinking heads to take stock of the situation and unlock human and organizational resources to ensure the safety of all personnel who work in the public interest" , warns the organization in a press release published this Tuesday, January 16.  

"Punch to the temple"

Ufap Unsa Justice lists these acts of violence which have occurred since Friday January 12, and again this Tuesday, within the establishment. The first concerns a guard who was the victim of a punch to the right temple from an inmate in the prison structure. 39;accompaniment towards the exit". According to the union, the inmate was "dissatisfied at not being able to speak with his integration and probation counselor, who was not on site".& nbsp;In addition, during his transfer to a waiting room, the inmate took advantage of a doorway to deliver a knee blow to the lower abdomen. of the supervisor. 

Another fact reported: Sunday January 14, "an inmate who arrived the day before did not hesitate to hit the guard who came to offer him a walk". "An external dispute existed between the inmate and the supervisor who had reported the facts as soon as the latter was incarcerated", specifies the union, which points out "an error of&#39 ;assignment and communication."

Third fact reported by L'Ufap Unsa Justice: Monday January 15, an inmate who refuses to return to his cell, blocks the door with his foot, then gives it a big knock , injures a supervisor in the wrist. "A sprain resulting in 9 days of sick leave to be reassessed." Finally, on Tuesday January 16, "an inmate who did not respond to oral requests during the end-of-shift check jumped from his bed to throw himself and violently push the guard."  "A cowardly attack which testifies to the climate of tension in the establishment", believes the professional organization.
