Four high school students from Joliot-Curie in Sète take and pass the Sciences Po Paris entrance exam

A Sète, quatre élèves ont passé et réussi le concours d’entrée pour Sciences Po Paris.

This is a first for the Joliot-Curie high school in Sète. Generally there are one or two admissions per year, but here there are four students who will join Sciences Po Paris next September. This year, the professor and coordinator of the workshop Jean-Marc Gournier hoped to have successes and the results speak for themselves.

This year is a great vintage

He declares that "this year is a great year: we had few eligible candidates but particularly serious and motivated candidates. They didn't give up and the result is there […] We are really very proud." These four admissions from Sète – Solène Regis, Louane Lambert , Mathilde Vatuone and Fabio Piran – coming from different specialties, finally found their way through the Sciences Po workshop.

A special convention

Thanks to a Priority Education Agreement (CEP), the establishment has introduced a Sciences Po workshop around ten years ago. The high school thus benefits from a specific partnership with the great Parisian school. The goal: to prepare volunteer students for the demanding entrance exam. Two hours per week and around ten teachers, everything is done for the success of the most motivated high school students. Now accessible from second grade, this system has a framework and supports freely chosen by teachers. Introducing students to the sector, deepening their general knowledge and giving them the means to succeed remain their main objectives. Mission accomplished.
