The May 23 issue of Le Point, currently on newsstands, announces an article on "Robert Ménard : after Béziers, the temptation of the Elysée". On the inside pages, we discover a long report on the city, and its mayor, beaming in photos on the Allées. Béziers is described as "a little paradise in sweet France", not traveled by "cargoes of multicolored tourists", with people who "look happy to live here", and led by a mayor "sincere", "popular", &quot ;stubborn and frugal soldier-monk.Nothing surprising on the part of this weekly, which is rather conservative in its obedience, which is its strictest right.

What is more, on the other hand, is the presentation made by the author of the article who is none other than the famous Franz -Olivier Giesbert. "When the newspaper sent me to what our dear colleagues often present as a war zone, I said to myself that it would have been more appropriate to send to Béziers, for his baptism of fire, one of these young reporters ready for anything […]. Did someone at the newspaper want me dead??", he asks ingenuously.

Knowing that FOG was director of Le Point, a publication of which he is still the star editorialist, we can doubt that he was sent to the city of Riquet against his will. We can even assume the opposite. Sent or not, Franz Olivier Giesbert was in any case invited by the town hall of Béziers, since he was on April 26 at the André-Malraux media library to present his latest book, A French Tragedy.
