Montpellier, Nîmes, Marseille… the ranking of the major cities with the most burglaries in 2023

Dans une vaste étude s’appuyant sur les données du Service statistique ministériel de la sécurité intérieure (SMSI), Le Figaro dresse un classement des villes les plus cambriolées de France.

Where are there the most burglaries per 1,000 homes? Based on the figures from the SSMSI, Le Figaro has classified the 42 French metropolises with more than 100,000 inhabitants.

The most robbed cities

And the south occupies pride of place. The Bouches-du-Rhône department occupies the first two places since Aix-en-Provence (1,257% of homes burglarized) dominates this ranking just ahead of Marseille (1.21%). 60~/p>

Clermont-Ferrand completes the podium with 1.03% housing burglarized in 2023.

The Occitanie region is represented further down in the ranking. Montpellier comes 13th with 1,400 burglaries reported in 2023, or 0.79% of homes affected.

Toulouse (15th with 0.78%), Nîmes (17th, 0.725%) and Perpignan (20th with 0.642%) follow closely.
