According to the first elements of the investigations carried out by the gendarmes, the two men, who live in this camp of old, dilapidated caravans, started drinking and were drunk. One then allegedly urinated in the caravan of his evening companion and it was then that an argument broke out between the two individuals.

He takes a frying pan and violently hits the man on the head as he relieves himself. The victim then staggers out, collapses on the ground and is kicked numerous times in the head. The perpetrator of the attack goes to bed, leaving the man lying in the grass.

When he wakes up the next day, seeing his friend still lying down, he decides to put a blanket on him. It was only in the evening, almost 24 hours after the incident, that he decided to notify emergency services. The victim was transported to Bordeaux University Hospital and remained in a coma for several days. He suffers from brain edema, our colleagues specify.

The man who carried out the blows was arrested by the gendarmes and indicted on Saturday by the investigating judge of Bergerac, for violence with a weapon having resulted in permanent disability. He was then placed in pre-trial detention. Note that the victim has still not been able to be heard by the police due to her state of health: she is still intubated in intensive care.
