Head to Béziers prison for the three burglars

Les vols ont été commis dans des maisons individuelles entre le 8 et le 22 janvier dans l’Hérault et l’Aude : Autignac, Bize Minervois, Capestang, Maraussan, Montady, Portiragnes et Puisserguier.

At the immediate appearance hearing on January 31, the Béziers criminal court sentenced three men aged 24, 25 and 43, prosecuted for nine burglaries. These had been committed in individual houses between January 8 and 22 in Hérault and Aude (Autignac, Bize Minervois, Capestang, Maraussan, Montady, Portiragnes and Puisserguier). Many objects had been stolen there, including three cars, four motorcycles, three bicycles, two long guns and various tools.

Interpellations and investigations

These three individuals had been identified thanks to numerous investigations and surveillance carried out by soldiers from the research brigade of the Béziers gendarmerie company and the Cazouls-lès-Béziers brigade under the direction of the Béziers parquet.

Arrested on January 24, they admitted to having committed part of these burglaries. The searches led to the recovery of several stolen items, 3,800 euros and equipment for changing license plates.

From prison

On January 26, at the end of police custody, the Béziers public prosecutor's office ordered their presentation before the judge of freedoms and detention who placed them in pre-trial detention in the & rsquo;waiting for their judgment.

The two youngest individuals, with clean criminal records, domiciled respectively in Cazouls-lès-Béziers and in Yonne, were sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment including 2 years suspended probative. The 43-year-old man, living in Yonne with a long criminal record, was sentenced to 5 years' imprisonment, including 1 year suspended on probation.

The judicial court also ordered their continued detention, the ban on appearing in the Hérault department for 3 years and the confiscation of the seized sums and two vehicles used to commit the offenses. They will also have the obligation to compensate to work and to compensate the victims as part of their probationary suspension which will be put in place at the end of their period of incarceration.
