After almost six weeks of ordeal, the child's mother shares the tragedy her family is going through. Clara, aged seven, was placed in an artificial coma after contracting E.coli bacteria. Jade tells our colleagues about her daughter's hospitalization at RTL.

Six weeks of ordeal

Last December, little Clara bit into a piece of morbier at the end of her meal; the food was undoubtedly responsible for her ordeal. For a month and a half, the little girl has been seriously ill, poisoned by the bacteria E.coli, or Escherichia coli, a microorganism of which certain strains are pathogenic, and particularly dangerous for children.

"She was placed in an artificial coma on a respirator", laments Jade, Clara's mother, who recounts how her daughter's condition deteriorated: "On December 25, she began having convulsive attacks and her neurological condition deteriorated extremely , quickly."

The little girl has already had to undergo two operations, one "dialysis catheter that&#39 ;she will have kept three weeks" was placed in her abdomen. Furthermore, Clara "had a lot of infections following the heavy resuscitation she had".

Extensive product recall

According to our colleagues from BFMTV, eleven children were contaminated by the E.coli bacteria this year last. Two of them, including Jade, are still in serious condition.

On December 14, Santé publique France launched an investigation, led by the Robert Debré hospital in Paris , the General Directorate of Food and the General Directorate of Health. The conclusions of these investigations are at the origin of a vast product recall of cheeses throughout France.
