Housing assistance: what is this new system which covers up to 1,100 euros of rent in addition to CAF APL ?

Une aide d'Action Logement réservée aux jeunes locataires de moins de 30 ans peut prendre en charge une partie du loyer.

Since Thursday February 15, 2024, youth mobility assistance, offered by Action Logement, has had a makeover. From now on, this assistance is reserved for tenants under the age of 30, in work-study vocational training or employees of a company in the non-agricultural private sector, with a gross monthly salary of less than or equal at 80% of the minimum wage, according to the site MoneyVox.

Who can benefit from it ?

In practice, you can benefit from youth mobility aid if you change your main residence to be closer to your job, either with new accommodation more than 70 km from your old address, or failing that, a travel time greater than 40 minutes between these two addresses, or by justifying a double rent charge (occupying two accommodations over the same period).

Up to 100 euros per month

This aid can supplement the APL. It varies from 10 euros to 100 euros per month maximum and is capped at 1,100 euros per year of training over 11 monthly payments, details the site Action Logement.&nbsp ;

Aid can be requested for a maximum of two years of training, consecutive or not, i.e. twice 11 months.
The calculation is made on the rent after deduction of housing assistance (APL).

How and where to apply ?

The amount of mobile youth assistance is calculated:

from your rent (charges included) or your share of rent (charges included) in the case of shared accommodation taking into account the various housing assistance received for the same accommodation depending on the supporting documents sent

Requests to benefit from this aid are made directly on the dedicated platform, which allows eligibility to be checked. Then simply enter your request and deposit the supporting documents online into your account. Once the file is completed, it will be examined by the Action Logement teams who will decide whether or not to validate it.
