Tuesday February 20, before his sermon at the At-twaba mosque in Bagnols-sur-Cèze, imam Mahjoub Mahjoubi, caught in the turmoil after the controversial video, explains that he " will defend at Bagnols".

"If I am asked to go to Tunisia, I will leave, but not in handcuffs. I will go alone"  confided, Tuesday February 20, Mahjoub Mahjoubi before his sermon at the At-twaba mosque in Bagnols, "I will continue to preach"  affirms the Bagnolais imam, caught in the political-media turmoil.

"I've been living relentlessly for 72 hours, it's exhausting, but I'm a difficult man to bring down"  confides the Tunisian, father from a family of five children, who "grew up in France, in Roquemaure. I have lived in France for 42 years, I arrived there at the age of 12. The imam explains that he " will not run away, I will stay in Bagnols, I will defend myself in Bagnols".

"I will not go to Tunisia, for fear of being blocked at the border on my return"

In his native country, where he returns every month "as’imam",&amp ;nbsp;he was the subject a few years ago of a "fatwa of a handful of extremist Muslims". He was supposed to go back this week, but "I won't go because I'm afraid of being blocked at the border on my way back".
