On the night of February 13 to 14, 120 police officers and CRS were deployed in the neighborhood, as well as at Clos d'Orville.
Five days after the shooting of Thursday, February 8 in the Chemin-bas d’Avignon neighborhood in Nîmes, a new operation "Place Net", targeting to fight against drug trafficking and delinquency, and to improve the living environment of residents, took place in this sensitive neighborhood as well as at Clos d’Orville on the night of 13 February 14.
Nearly 200 people checked
For several hours, 120 personnel from the Gard national police and the Republican Security Company (CRS) 81 carried out checks on 192 people and 10 vehicles. Four people, including one in an irregular situation, were arrested. A procedure for illegal work has also been initiated.
Since October 2023, throughout the Gard department, 71 arrests have been carried out as part of eight square net operations.
Operations which have resulted to date in the incarceration of 32 individuals.
