The businessman, a disappointed candidate in the last municipal elections, sent his letter of resignation to the mayor of Montpellier after four years of empty chair policy.  

After the Metropolitan Council last February, Mohed Altrad resigned from the Montpellier municipal council. He sent his letter this Thursday, September 12 to Mayor Michaël Delafosse. The disappointed candidate in the last municipal elections has never sat in the ranks of the opposition. An empty chair policy that he has never justified. No more than his decision to leave the council. An attitude that opens the door to all conjunctures. Did the conflict over the purchase of the GGL stadium with the president of the Métropole that resurfaced last June precipitate his decision ? Who knows!

Serge Martin will sit in his place

Consequence of this resignation: Serge Martin, the next on the list for the municipal elections in 2020, will sit in his place. Will he join Serge Guiseppin and Salim Jawhari in the group "Le coeur et l'action" ? This bodes well for behind-the-scenes negotiations in view of the next municipal elections.
