“It's Crazy, Right ?”: 30-Year-Old Becomes Millionaire Two Days Before Birthday, Fulfills Promise Made to Wife

Un Américain est devenu millionnaire deux jours avant son anniversaire. Il veut profiter de ce gain pour faire plaisir à sa famille et acheter une maison à sa femme.

North Carolina resident Terrell Bethea had a special birthday. Two days before his 36th birthday, he became a millionaire, which left him feeling particularly emotional, reports USA Today.

The story began Monday in Moore County, when Bethea bought a lottery ticket and won $1.5 million with the winning combination “5-6-7-9-23”.

Giving his family home dreams

“It happened two days before my birthday. It's crazy, right ?" he told lottery officials, visibly shocked and very happy with his win. With this sum, Bethea intends to fulfill an old promise made to his wife: to offer her the house of her dreams. This intention deeply touched his wife. “She fell to her knees and started crying,”, Terrell Bethea reported.

For Bethea, the win means more than just financial gain. “It means more to me than you can imagine!” he said, expressing the depth of his happiness and gratitude. It's still hard for him to come down from his cloud.
