Les neuf impacts de balles de kalachnikov sur la porte de l'appartement visé vendredi 23 février. Midi Libre – DR

Nine bullet holes fired with a Kalashnikov were noted on the door of an apartment on rue Bousquet, targeted by gunfire on the evening of Friday February 23.

Two days after, shots were fired towards the door of an apartment on the ground floor of a residence located at number 6 rue Paul-Bousquet in downtown Sète, the investigation is still ongoing.

Friday February 23 around 11 p.m., projectiles fired from a Kalashnikov type weapon reached the door of an apartment without causing any casualties. Nine impacts were observed.

When the police arrived, the perpetrator(s) had disappeared. Luckily, the accommodation in question was empty. But one of the bullets had hit a gas pipe in the home, causing a leak.

"All tracks are open"

The gas accumulated throughout the night in the premises, forming a dangerous pocket of this highly explosive substance, could have caused enormous damage and victims. It was the police officers who came the next day to make observations on the door riddled with bullets who gave the alert in time and allowed the residents to be brought to safety.

As for the judicial investigation linked to the shooting with a weapon of war, "all avenues are open", we confide from a police source. The facts, which constitute at least intimidation at home, are not linked to a case of domestic violence. The suspect(s) were still wanted on Sunday evening.
