Legislative elections 2024: Éric Chaveroche, LR candidate for the 1st constituency of Hérault, “does not want to make false promises”

The former business leader, already a candidate in 2022, will wear the Les Républicains label in the 1st constituency of Hérault this Sunday, June 30, during the first round of the legislative elections.

You obtained 3.61% of the vote in 2022. What convinced you to go back?

The Republicans asked me to go back into battle and, faithful to the Republican right, I accepted. I know how complicated the political context is, but I’m going there out of conviction. I am a business manager. Politics, for me, is not a food activity. I simply believe that my experience can contribute something. And that it is important to defend the colors of my political family in this troubled period.

In front of you, there will be another candidate who claims to be LR, invested by Éric Ciotti and supported by the RN…

I am the only candidate chosen by the nomination commission for the 1st constituency. Let's stop playing with words. It's like when I hear this candidate talking about the united right, even though I'm running an LR candidacy and there will also be a Reconquest candidate…hellip; I don’t have any energy to waste on that. I put my energy into meeting people!

The union of the right does not tempt you?

We have always talked about the union of the right. But not like this. Not by losing your identity. Not on the decision of a single man who imposes this merger on the members.

What concerns are coming to your attention from the field ?

Purchasing power, security, pensions… These are issues that come up systematically and which will have to be defended in the National Assembly. But there are so many others…hellip; I am thinking in particular of the business world which I know well. It is on these subjects that I discuss with the inhabitants of the 1st district, a sector that I know by heart and it is close to my heart. I want to be able to speak to them honestly, explain to them the project we want to carry out, and above all not make them false promises…
