Legislative elections 2024: “It is obvious that the RN must speak to its voters on the 6th”, says Biterrois Julien Gabarron

Biterrois Julien Gabarron, departmental head of the RN, is a candidate in the 6th constituency of Hérault, that of Béziers. Which translates the "divorce" between the National Rally and the Ménards.

"I am very happy to have been chosen to lead this project to unite the right in Béziers. The RN vote is the only vote to make Jordan Bardella a Prime Minister and it is me who embodies it locally" : Biterrois Julien Gabarron, departmental head of the RN, announced this Thursday, June 13, the list of RN candidates in Hérault for the legislative elections on June 30 and 7; July. And it is therefore he who will be candidate in the 6th constituency of Hérault, facing, among others, Emmanuelle Ménard, outgoing MP who had declared, on Monday, that she was leaving again in countryside.

This is the first time since 2014 and the arrival of Robert Ménard at Béziers town hall, that the RN has positioned someone against a candidate "Ménard& ;quot;. The support of the National Rally has lived and is no more. As Julien Gabarron's words foreshadowed several months ago already: "The divorce is complete". The various positions taken by the mayor of Béziers got the better of "the’understanding" knotted years ago…

"I am running for the voters of Biterrois who voted en masse for Jordan Bardella in the European elections (40.5&nbsp ;% in Béziers, Editor's note). The Ménards were supported in 2014, 2017, 2020, 2022. They marked their differences and even their hostility towards the RN. We must therefore respond to the voters of the RN, explains Julien Gabarron. It is obvious that the RN must speak to its voters in the 6th constituency […] A the National Assembly, the RN is represented from the Pyrenees to Sète, there was an empty point in the 6th constituency of Hérault. However, Béziers must have a say in the conduct of the power that is coming."

Julien Gabarron's deputy is Olivier Stroobants, from Biterrois, retired gendarme, member of the Hérault federation of the RN.

This Thursday, June 13, the list of all RN candidates in Hérault was presented. On the 5th (Hauts cantons Biterrois) and the 7th (Agde-Sète), these are the outgoing deputies Stéphanie Galzy and Aurélien Lopez-Liguori.

On the 6th, where are we ?

To date, in the 6th constituency of Hérault, the following are officially candidates: Emmanuelle Ménard, outgoing MP and Julien Gabarron (RN). Magali Crozier (LFI) should embody the left. We also know that a candidate will be presented by the LR. There still remains a question about a possible Reconquest candidate. As well as on the formalization of a candidacy of Mathilde Tastavy for the presidential majority… To be continued.
