Ligue 1: “Michel Mézy told the truth” in the MHSC locker room before the Lyon reception

The president's advisor Michel Mézy reminded the locker room of Montpellier's objectives on Friday February 9, two days before the decisive reception in Lyon.

The KO in the Coupe de France made noise in the Montpellier locker room. And has produced its echoes since Wednesday and the disillusionment at La Mosson in the round of 16 against Nice (1-4).

In the absence of President Laurent Nicollin, his advisor Michel Mézy spoke on one or two occasions, notably this Friday before the start of the training session.

"We all fight for the club"

"Michel (Mézy) saw them, he spoke to them. He spoke the truth, he spoke well for the club. We all fight for the club. We are here so that the club remains in Ligue 1",  said coach Michel Der Zakarian on Friday at a press conference.

Fourteen days before the end of the season, Montpellier, ranked in 13th place with three points ahead of the jump-off, is embarking on a race to maintain itself, just as uncertain as the previous season. Before tackling two matches at La Mosson in front of Lyon and Metz, decisive for the rest of the season, Der Zak appreciates the intervention of management with the locker room.

Michel Mézy was not the only one to speak out at the dawn of the last third of the season. Der Zak (see opposite) also hit where it hurt. "In the locker room, we have senior players who must guide the others. Then there is my speech, there is the management speech. Today there is a red alert, he warns.
