Lodève will host the 2nd defense and security trade fair

Après Salelles-du-Bosc l'an dernier, il se déroulera dans la sous-préfecture Héraultaise le samedi 25 mai.

A time anticipated in the context of Lake Salagou, the second edition of the defense and security professions fair will finally take place in Lodève, where a technical preparation meeting was held this Friday morning. It made it possible to hold the day on Saturday, May 25 around three centers, the Ramadier room, the top of the municipal park and the Grézac playground.

A new dimension

"The city welcomes us, provides us with technical assistance and provides its infrastructure for this day, entirely financed by private partners, indicates Jérôme Valat, the mayor of Bosc at the initiative and organization with his deputy Luc Alcovéré. The 1st edition took place last year in Sallèles-du-Bosc but this show goes beyond the Bosc town hall. We wish to perpetuate it and place it in the landscape of Lodévois & Larzac and on the scale of the Heart of Hérault."

With the repeated objective of making the population and young people discover that behind the uniforms, there are men and women, there is a whole diversity of professions serving people. Like last year, we will find side by side the national police and the gendarmerie (with their different components and services, the municipal police), security companies… hellip; or the army, notably the 13th demi-brigade of the Foreign Legion based on Larzac.

The public will discover spectacular exercises simulating interventions, but it is not a show of force.

The show will close an intense month of May in the city

Fifteen days after the Saint-Fulcran's Day festivities (Saturday 4 to Sunday 12 May), one week after the fire installation show of the Carabosse Company around the cathedral to celebrate the end of the work on the bell tower (Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 May), Lodève will host the second forum of the same ;third party of defense and security on Saturday 25th in a busy month of May.

A free and open day all which will take place on three hubs, very close to each other: Salle Ramadier (information stands, exhibitions, broadcast of external activities by system & even of drones on giant screens…); top of the municipal park (ground activities, exercises, demonstrations, vehicle exhibition, etc.); Grézac playground (aerial activities with helicopters…).

"We want to bring together all the players, all the institutions around the same event. And it’s very rare. This day allows them to show what they do, what they offer in terms of career, continues Jérôme Valat.Defense and security are certainly sectors where there is the most choice of professions and the organization in Lodève will allow us to show them and give a new dimension to the event."

Associate youth

"We know Jérôme Valat, elected official of the territory like us and as soon as he asked us we immediately responded favorably with Madame the mayor. Especially since we have the facilities to host such a day, confirms deputy mayor Didier Koelher. This is an additional activity at the heart of an intense month of May where a lot will happen in Lodève."

Youth will be associated with this show which also aims to encourage vocations and open up other professional prospects, while it has already been noted that the refreshment/restaurant part would be entrusted to the center youth of the community of communes Lodévois and Larzac.
