Christian Brückner, the German repeat pedophile suspected of being responsible for the disappearance and murder of the young British Madeleine McCann, nicknamed Maddie, is on trial in Germany from this Friday, February 16 for five other sexual crimes and offenses, committed between 2000 and 2017 in Portugal.

He is on trial for three alleged rapes and two child sexual abuse charges, while the investigation into his alleged involvement in the disappearance of little Maddie is still ongoing.

Already in detention

Christian Brückner was already convicted in 2019 for the rape of a 72-year-old American tourist in 2005 in the Portuguese village of Praia da Luz, where the British girl also disappeared on May 3, 2007. He is also in detention in Kiel, in the north of Germany.

Three rapes

Among the cases judged from this Friday, February 16, there are three rapes.  These include the rape of one more woman 70 years old, and which he had filmed. The victim, attacked in her second home, was raped and whipped. He is also being prosecuted for tying a naked 14-year-old German girl to a post, before whipping her and forcing her to have oral sex. There too the scene was filmed.

The third case concerns the rape on June 16, 2004 in Praia da Rocha of a 20-year-old Irish woman into whom he had managed to enter via the balcony.

Two sexual assaults on young girls

The last two cases to be tried concern sexual assault: the victims are a 10-year-old German girl, whom he allegedly attacked on a beach in the Faro district on April 7, 2007, and& ;nbsp;a little 11-year-old Portuguese girl, June 11, 2017 in Bartolomeu de Messines.

A key witness who could speak about Maddie during the trial

During his trial, a man is considered a key witness. Moreover, Christian Brückner's lawyer did everything to prevent him from speaking in court, but the requests were rejected. < /p>

This is Helge Busching who frequented Christian Brückner in Portugal. He told investigators that he had found a weapon and a camcorder at his home, the images of which showed Christian Brückner raping two women. He would also have declared that a year after the disappearance of little Madeleine, during a kite festival in Spain in 2008, the main suspect had confided to him that it was ;#39;was "strange that she didn'scream".

The man could make revelations about Maddie during this trial which does not concern the case of the missing girl…
