Mark Coleman in serious condition after heroic act: UFC star saved his parents and their dog trapped in a fire

This Tuesday, March 12, 2024, former MMA fighter Mark Coleman was hospitalized in serious condition after inhaling smoke while saving his parents from a fire.

Champion and now hero. Mark Coleman, iconic MMA figure and former UFC heavyweight champion, was taken to hospital on Tuesday. The 59-year-old American was evacuated by plane due to a large quantity of smoke inhaled while saving his parents from a fire, reports RMC Sport.

The flames severely affected the house of the parents of the first UFC heavyweight champion (title won in 1997). "He was flown to Toledo, Ohio and is currently intubated and sedated. He’s one of the guys the toughest guys I've ever seen, he's been through so much. I sent photos of Mark Coleman's current condition. I know Mark, if he could talk he'd say 'film this shit, Wes, we're going viral!&#39 ;", longtime friend and former MMA fighter Wes Sims said on Facebook.

While waiting for news on the state of health of Mark Coleman, his last fight in the UFC dates back to February 6, 2010 against Randy Couture.
