The Montpellier rugby club announced Tuesday July 2 in a press release the signing of three recruits, including that of right pillar Wilfrid Hounkpatin, from Castres, convicted a few weeks ago for domestic violence.

Hounkpatin, who is 32 years old and has been selected for the French team, arrived in Castres in 2018.

He was laid off and removed from the team during the second part of the season, after incidents of domestic violence.

In April, he was sentenced to 12 months in prison for brutalizing his partner. He signed up for three seasons with MHR, a club where he already played between 2011 and 2013.

The Hérault club also announced the signings of Argentine fly-half Domingo Miotti, who arrives from Oyonnax, and Congolese winger Madosh Tambwe, who has just spent two seasons in Bègles-Bordeaux.
