Le trafic ferroviaire sur la ligne Béziers-Neussargues est interrompu depuis les intempéries du 16 septembre 2023.

Train users on the Béziers-Neussargues line, known as the Aubrac line, are off to a good start in 2024.

After three months of interruption due to bad weather which caused major damage to the line, train traffic resumes this Friday January 5, 2024 between Bédarieux and Millau.

Work undertaken for three months

As a reminder, this Béziers-Neussargues line, which crosses Aveyron in its southern part, passing in particular through Roquefort, Millau and Sévérac, also passes through Saint -Chély-d'Apcher (Lozère) to reach Neussargues (Cantal).

"No temporary speed limit"

"The rehabilitation work begun for three months now and having mobilized more than sixty people is coming to an end", announces the SNCF. "Trains will therefore be able to run again between Bédarieux and Millau from Friday January 5 at noon, without temporary speed limitation, in accordance with the announced schedule".

The teams, however, remain mobilized since certain finishing works, without impact on traffic, will have to continue at the beginning of January.

Weather-related damage

The bad weather on September 16 in the Orb valley had caused heavy damage. This damage occurred mainly between Bédarieux and Millau.

Indeed, fourteen structures, two rock walls, two tunnels and  ten kilometers of tracks had been impacted. The operations represent an investment of 10 million euros financed in full by SNCF Réseau.
