Millavois ecologists discuss a greener Europe and “source of solutions to major challenges”

Laurent Renaudin et les écologistes du Sud Aveyron ont parlé d'une Europe plus verte et sociale. Midi Libre – F.M

Environmental activists and sympathizers from South Aveyron gathered in Millau this Friday, March 15 in the evening for an "ap'euro". A moment of exchange organized as part of the campaign for the European elections on June 9, a vote where the list of environmentalists will be led by Marie Toussaint.

The face of Marie Toussaint, head of the environmentalist list for the European elections on June 9, is displayed on the window. A virtual presence therefore. Because, this Friday, March 15 in the evening, the small restaurant in downtown Millau which welcomed around fifteen environmental activists and sympathizers for "ap'euro" did not have a visit from the head of the list.

The purpose of the meeting, led by Laurent Renaudin, a long-time activist, was above all to create connections. And to spark green dreams. "Greens have always been pro-Europe, a source of solutions to major challenges. Our elected representatives are also the most diligent in the European Parliament. With, sometimes progress but also, sometimes, powerlessness in the face of conservatism."

Green dreams for Europe

That said, Laurent Renaudin invited those present to say, out loud, their green dreams for a Europe of tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow. The opportunity for everyone to launch ideas, proposals and suggestions. On mobility, breeding, the preservation of the living world, women's rights, the end of the financialization of the economy… Catalog à la Prévert tinted with the colors of the rainbow.

With, also, the wish "to act at the regional level and, here in Millau, to wake up the inhabitants."& nbsp;Without forgetting the reminder that the European vote of June 9 "is a single-round proportional election. This has a counterpart: the absence of a majority in Parliament which requires a policy of permanent compromise."
