Montpellier woman injured by three stab wounds to the lower abdomen and thigh, perpetrator arrested

This Tuesday, August 20, around 9:30 p.m., emergency services treated a 52-year-old woman from Montpellier, who had been stabbed three times in the lower abdomen and thigh, on Place des Charmilles in the Celleneuve district of Montpellier. She was taken to the emergency room at Lapeyronie Hospital. Her prognosis is not critical.

On the scene, the national police arrested a 45-year-old man, whom she denounced as her attacker. He was placed in a sobering-up cell due to his high alcohol consumption.

Origin of the conflict undetermined

According to the initial elements of the investigation, the events took place in the accused's home. Although the knife was found, the origin of the violence is unknown.

The apartment was sealed pending searches and further expert assessments. The investigation continues while the forty-year-old is currently in police custody for questioning.
