This Tuesday morning, just a few hours after the incident, the atmosphere was surprisingly calm at the scene. Khadra, the brewery manager, says with a smile: “Everything went well, everything is in order. Everything is cleaned.” She explains that the Sprinkler fire protection network immediately alerted the surveillance company, which then contacted her.

Thanks to the responsiveness of the emergency services that arrived in large numbers at around half past midnight, only a few material damages were reported, without any serious consequences for customers or staff. The store was able to open its doors this morning “as if nothing had happened”, without any major disruption to regulars. “It was equipment that burned, nothing more”, said the manager, visibly relieved that everything was back to normal.

While the anecdote could have turned into a tragedy, the incident ended without any serious damage, leaving room for a working day like any other at the Intermarché Hyper in Nîmes. “More fear than harm”, Khadra finally concluded, smiling.
