Narcobanditism: triple arrest and new seizure of drugs and weapons at Les Escanaux in Bagnols-sur-Cèze

Tuesday February 6 at 7 a.m., three men aged 20, 24 and 26 were arrested in the G1 tower of Escanaux for drug trafficking and possession of weapons of war. The first accused is referred to the Nîmes public prosecutor's office. This is the second operation in three weeks.

According to a press release from the departmental directorate of public security of Gard (DDSP), three men were arrested Tuesday February 6 around 7 a.m. in a neighborhood known in Bagnols for its drug trafficking:

weed, resin, cocaine, a kalach and five other weapons seized

The first suspect arrested had on him a bag containing 80 grams of cannabis herb, 570 grams of cannabis resin, 45 grams of cocaine, as well as 578 € cash. A hunting rifle and an unstocked Kalashnikov magazine were seized from his apartment.

The other two suspects were arrested while throwing a bag containing weapons and ammunition from their apartment, including a Soviet submachine gun, a submachine gun, and a submachine gun. ;Walter, a Kalashnikov, and three modified hunting rifles, with a total of fifty-nine cartridges of various calibers.

In a third apartment, narcotics packaged for sale were found, including 2.3 kg of cannabis resin, 600 grams of weed and 120 grams of cocaine.

Traffic installed in an almost empty tower

A first operation dating from January 17 made it possible to confirm the investigative elements which led to this second raid on February 6. "Out of 14 officially unoccupied apartments that we inspected, 3 of them led to seizure", informs Police Commander Laurent Pailhories. The G1 tower is only occupied at a quarter of its housing capacity, pending the district's urban renewal plan.
